EQUITABLE DISTRIBUTION

Equitable distribution is the division of all marital property in the divorce proceeding.  An equitable distribution does not mean an equal distribution, but rather a fair distribution.  There is no hard and fast rule for what is fair–it may be different in each case. Click here for:

These factors include the length of the marriage, the age of the parties, whether one spouse has custody of the minor children of the marriage, and the future earning potential of each spouse.
